Kate
Certified Veterinary Technician / Lead Tech
Hi, my name is Kate, and I am a Certified Veterinary Technician and Lead Tech at Sugar River Animal Hospital. I am passionate about providing high-quality care and helping my patients feel comfortable and confident in their treatment.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
In my spare time, I enjoy exploring the foothills with my collies, which I breed and show, participating in various AKC sports, and chauffeuring my children to soccer, baseball, and dance events around Concord. I am supported in all my endeavors by my husband, two children, two cats, my Gateside collies, and a small flock of chickens.
Fun Fact: I was the 2022 AKC Smooth Collie breeder of the year and the 2023 runner-up.
Favorite Part of My Job
I have special interests in dentistry, canine training, canine reproduction, and physical therapy/rehabilitation.
Education
My educational journey is eclectic, starting with a BA in English and an MA in Literature. After six years, I earned an AAS in Veterinary Science and passed my VTNE board exam in 2007 to become a Certified Vet Tech.
Work History
After several years working in corporate America for various publishing houses, I decided to change careers. I returned to school while working nights at a 24-hour Emergency Referral Animal Hospital in Indiana.
I am thrilled to be back in veterinary medicine after taking a hiatus to raise my children until they reached elementary school age.
