Hi, my name is Dr. Rachel Chase, and I am a Veterinarian at Sugar River Animal Hospital. I am passionate about providing high-quality care and helping my patients feel comfortable and confident in their treatment.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
I live with my black lab mix, Aravis, and my two orange cats, Shasta and Corin. In my spare time, I enjoy reading (did you catch the Narnian naming theme?), hiking, learning the guitar, kid's ministry at Church, veterinary mission trips and spending time with family and friends.
Favorite Part of My Job
My interests include cytology and preventive medicine.
Why I Chose This Profession
I've always wanted to be a veterinarian. I like animals, problem-solving, and helping people. Even though it can be a difficult field to work in, I can't imagine doing anything else.
Education
I graduated from the University of Maine in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. I obtained my Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2019. During my years in vet school, I was Fear Free certified.

Work History
After graduating from veterinary school, I spent three years in Pennsylvania practicing small animal general medicine before moving to Grantham, to be closer to family.
